Neighbor Testimonials
“Fellow Pacificans across OUR TOWN are being forced into undesirable face offs to protect the vision of Pacifica for Pacificans. Christine Boles has studied our General Plan and has consistently spoken out for accurate scientific data about our numerous natural hazard areas. The Hillside Preservation Ordinance has been referred to as a "sacred document" but recently many waivers have been granted to developers. Christine appreciates the long hard work done by Pacificans consistently through our history and has stepped forward to continue that work. She deeply appreciates our natural, cultural and historical assets, and of course that right of Pacificans to stand tall & loud for OUR aspirations for OUR TOWN.”
— Sue Digre
Former Mayor of Pacifica and Member of Concerned Manor Residents
Christine Boles has been a remarkable champion for the people of Pacifica and for the environment by being responsive to our needs -- both immediate and long term. She has been a supporter of Tree City Pacifica ever since she joined the city council, and she brings to the job so many skills that she has honed in her professional life as an architect. Those skills allow her to create a vision, design and plan for our city's future and face so many challenges and opportunities. She is a gift to our city.

“As a retired health provider, I have learned that housing is necessary for life and health - for an individual, a family, and the community as a whole. That is why I respect the efforts of Christine Boles. Christine understands the importance of safe, affordable housing for everyone in Pacifica, her background as an architect provides skills and understanding that make her a powerful advocate, and her love for our environment assures she will balance housing needs with safety and environmental protection. Christine has proven her skills and dedication to Pacifica these past four years with her work on the Housing Element and Short Term Rentals for example. ”

“Thank you Christine for your tireless efforts to help Pacifica and our neighborhood. Your experience in Environmental Architecture, willingness to learn about the issues and talk with all of us who have lived here in the neighborhood to find out about the water flow has really impressed me. I appreciate too that you research and study the many plans of the city and use your voice to work with the city staff and help us be more sustainable and environmentally sound.”
— Lynn Adams
“I strongly recommend Christine Boles for City Council. She is a highly qualified candidate and dedicated to improving Pacifica's economic, environmental and social well-being.”
—William Leo Leon
Former Pacifica Planning Commissioner
“I was a 16-year resident on Esplanade Avenue and yet was evicted during the holidays by owners converting my apartment to an AirBnB. Devastated, I reached out to the City Council about my situation and was told that while Pacifica needs housing, it also needs these taxes and there was nothing they could do. One person, Christine Boles, reached out to me with empathy. She contacted the right people who helped me understand my rights, as well as the legal requirements for conversions when building permits are required, which in this case, were not properly done.
On researching the work that Christine Boles has and is doing, including making sure sites are safe for building, I am very impressed with her knowledge and perseverance towards a better Pacifica. My vote is with her, and I hope your votes will be too.”

No matter the issue that comes before the Council, Christine does the research. That may involve reading lengthy documents, talking to the city manager and other city staff, consulting with relevant county or agency officials. It's clear from public hearings that Christine is deeply prepared and manages public discussions in an informed and sensitive way. I also appreciate the outreach to our county supervisors and legislators in addressing the concerns of our community.

“Christine is the neighbor next door who always has an open door. She cares for our neighborhood and the people who live here, always with a smile and open heart. When our streets were flooding she reached out to all of us and advocated for our needs to the city government. She understands what is right and fair and will speak up for those who need help.”
— Summer Mei Ling Lee
“It's incredibly rare to have a neighbor with both the empathy and ability to understand the bigger picture while not being afraid to jump in, do the work, and speak up. During the last flood, Christine came out to each affected area and brought together the community and Public Works to better understand the issues and identify possible solutions. Christine is a true collaborator who isn't afraid to challenge the status quo to improve the community for all of us, and takes time to back up her findings with facts.”
